Scholarships

High School Scholarships

Selection is based on difficulty of curriculum, GPA, service to the community, and personal traits.  The scholarship is based on merit, not financial need.  Selection of the scholarship recipient is made by the Beaver Dam High School Scholarship Program Committee.  AAUW gives two to three scholarships each year, depending on funds raised at the gift basket auction.  At least one recipient is chosen from Beaver Dam High School and no more than one is selected from another area high school.

  • Must be a female
  • Must reside within the boundaries of the Beaver Dam Unified School District.  Applicants do not necessarily have to attend Beaver Dam High School.

In the Spring of 2024, we awarded two $2,000 scholarships to Britney Wendorf and Emma Adsit both from Beaver Dam High School. Britney plans to attend the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse to study radiologic sciences in the fall. In high school, her favorite class was AP Psychology. She liked the subject material and had friends in the class. To top that off, her teacher became her favorite teacher. One of the projects for this class was to collect data around school for a survey. The last book she read was “The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and the last thing she watched on television was “The Summer I Turned Pretty”. Her dad is the person who inspires her the most. Best of luck, Britney!! We did not hear from Emma, but we wish her the best as well.

The Moraine Park scholarships were awarded in the Fall of 2024 to Nicole Kucharski who is working on her Associate Degree in Nursing and Erica Pantoja who is working on her degree in Graphic Design.

Pictured below is Nicole Kucharski on the right, with Jan Sutter, the Beaver Dam Branch of AAUW’s Scholarship Chair at a recent luncheon.  Erica was not able to be there.
