Member Responsibilities
General:
- Engage in AAUW decision-making through discussion and through feedback to the officers.
- Suggest topics and speakers for the monthly programs.
- Suggest improvements in procedures.
- Become familiar and stay current with AAUW State and National platforms and goals.
- Consider attending the state convention and/or serving as a local, state, or national leader of AAUW.
Monthly programs:
- Attend and participate in monthly programs.
- Serve once a year on the Social Committee for one of the program meetings.
- Guided by the social chair, the committee will provide set-up refreshments and some décor. Will also provide clean-up afterwards.
- If unable to serve as assigned, find a replacement and notify the Social Chair about the change being made.
Gift Basket Auction:
- Make a themed gift basket to be auctioned, keeping in mind that the goal is to raise money for scholarships in an entertaining way. If unable to make a basket, then donate a monetary gift.
- Attend the auction. Assist in raising funds: bid and encourage others to bid.
- Invite guests to the Gift Basket Auction.
- Donate door prizes and books, if you would like
New Member Recruitment:
- Identify likely candidates, invite them to meetings, provide them with information about AAUW, and follow up as needed to encourage new members.
